Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong receives Ambassadors of New Zealand, Canada, Norway and Switzerland
  
(TTH Portals) - On November 25, 2024, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Phan Quy Phuong had a meeting with the Ambassadors of New Zealand, Canada, Norway and Switzerland on their working visit to Thua Thien Hue province. The leaders of relevant departments and agencies attended the meeting.

In the past time, Thua Thien Hue and partners from the G4 countries mainly focused on public support via non-governmental organizations. Typical projects to be named are  dealing with climate change and environmental protection (Canada), mine risk reduction and zero plastic city (Norway), post Covid-19 livelihood recovery (New Zealand), supporting children and people with disabilities (Switzerland).

On behalf of the delegation, the Ambassador of New Zealand kindly informed the purpose of the working visit. Accordingly, G4 countries expected to learn about local socio-economic situation, children rights, the influence of projects supported by New Zealand and Norway, particularly those related to children and youth. In addition, future demand is another attention paid by ambassadors.

The Ambassadors of New Zealand, Canada, Norway and Switzerland congratulated the province on achievements gained on its way to become a centrally governed city; discussed about the cooperative relation; figured out direction to accelerate cooperation among the G4 countries and Thua Thien Hue province.

On behalf of leaders of Thua Thien Hue province, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong expressed his gratitude to the four countries for having cooperated with Thua Thien Hue province; highly appreciated the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassadors. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province kindly requested the Embassies and bodies of countries to continue to carry out programs to support local development. Vice Chairman hoped that Ambassadors would introduce localities to Thua Thien Hue on the basis of sharing the same strengths in heritage conservation, culture, tourism, education and training.

Vice Chairman emphasized that Thua Thien Hue is now focusing on implementing Resolution No. 54 of the Politburo on developing Thua Thien Hue to 2030 and vision to 2045.

Vice Chairman hoped that Ambassadors would consider and introduce potential businesses and investors in the fields of industrial infrastructure, textile, processing, beverage, medical, dental, orthopedic and rehabilitation equipment and devices, white sand manufacturing, electrical and electronic industry, automobile, mechanical industry, semiconductor industry, high-tech agriculture with value chain.

Besides, the provincial leader looks forward to seeing programs organized to introduce Hue culture, heritages and cuisine; participating in international tourism fairs held in New Zealand, Canada, Norway and Switzerland to expand market and attract visitors; accelerating cultural cooperative relation by welcoming art troupes to the international festival organized in Thua Thien Hue province.

Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong hoped to observe programs and projects implemented to improve local livelihood and ensure social security. According to the provincial leader, Thua Thien Hue will hold more activities to strengthen the cooperative relation between the province with representative agencies of these countries in Vietnam, international organizations which are interested in cooperation and investment in the province; timely help investors overcome problems found while working in the province. Thua Thien Hue makes commitment to support, cooperate and create favorable condition for individuals and organizations.
