(TTH Portal) – On December 21, 2024, the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and the People’s Committee of Danang city made an announcement on the completion of the project on reserving, restoring and promoting values of Hai Van gate.
At the altitude of 490m compared to the sea level, Hai Van Gate is about 90km to the south of Hue city and 28 km to the north of Da Nang city. It is believed to be one of the most majestic military fortress in Vietnam. On July 14, 2017, Hai Van Gate was recognized as a national historical and architectural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

With its great values in culture, history, architecture and significant contribution to tourism of the two localities in particular and Central region in particular, Hai Van Gate was jointly conserved by Thua Thien Hue province and Danang city in 2021. The total funding of over VND 42 million was taken from the budget of both localities. Hai Van Gate is considered as a shared property, a symbol for solidarity and cooperation, an important foundation for both sides to further collaborate in conserving and promoting the relic in the future.
