(TTH Portals) - On December 12, 2024, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Phan Quy Phuong had a meeting with Mr. Koyama Noriaki, the Senior Executive Director General of Fast Retailing Group (UNIQLO). Mr. Akiyama Naoki, the CEO of UNIQLO Vietnam and the leader representatives of relevant departments and agencies attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Mr. Koyama Noriaki, the CEO of Fast Retailing Group (UNIQLO) expressed his pleasure to visit Thua Thien Hue province and extended sincere thank to provincial leader for the warm welcome.
According to the Senior Executive Director General of Fast Retailing Group, UNIQLO is a well-known brand founded since 1963. Over the past 60 years, UNIQLO is available in nearly 30 countries around the world with over 2.400 stores. UNIQLO stores mainly provide clothes including underwear, sportwears, footwear and accessories. To expand its market to North America, the Group will soon open a store in New York city.
In October 2024, UNIQLO applied for retail permit to open a store at Aeon Mall Hue. The total area of this store is 1.532,5 m2. Products from not only UNIQLO, but also other investors such as Fast Retailing (Singapore), Pte. Ltd and Mitsubishi Corporation will be available. Mr. Koyama Noriaki hoped that provincial leaders would support and create every favorable condition for the company to develop, introduce UNIQLO brand and others.
At the meeting
On behalf of the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Koyama Noriaki, the Senior Executive Director General of Fast Retailing Group and Mr. Akiyama Naoki, the CEO of UNIQLO Vietnam.
The leader of Thua Thien Hue province expected Fast Retailing to collaborate to turn textile into a key exporting industry, making important contribution to province’s GRDP on the basis of meeting development strategy of Vietnam textile and footwear industry.
Vice Chairman hoped that Fast Retailing would focus on developing textile-supporting industries, provide input for textile businesses in the province and Central Vietnam, turn current CMT into ODM model, promote product research and design, create and develop brand to increase the added value and competitiveness, form and develop fashion industry, develop a completed linked chain to benefit from import-export policies provided by free trade agreements. Appropriate investment, advanced technology, environment and scenery are requirements to be complied with.
