The project aims to improve and enhance economic condition and social knowledge of farmers and women from ethnic minority groups through environment education and income-generating activities in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province. Accordingly, the project is believed to enhance the capacity and raise public awareness of climate change and environmental protection. As planned, there will be 300 students participating in a drawing contest and 75 students attending a story telling contest. Also, the project will print 300 posters to widely spread environment protection; grow 20.000 bamboo trees in Quang Nham, Hong Kim and Hong Thai commune; install lightning system including lamp pole and solar energy light in Hong Kim, Hong Thai and Quang Nham commune; offer devices and training courses to create craft products made from banana stem.
As stated on this decision, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province is in charge of managing the funding while the head of the non-project aid is the Union of Friendship Associations.
