(TTH Portal) – On December 22, 2024, National Tourism Year 2024 was wrapped up in Dien Bien Phu city by Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism. At the event, Thua Thien Hue received the flag from Dien Bien Phu, the host of National Tourism Year 2024, becoming the official host of National Tourism Year 2025 themed “Kinh do xua – van hoi moi” (ancient capital – new opportunity).
As planned, the National Tourism Year 2025 themed “Kinh do xua – van hoi moi” will be kicked off in March 2025 and wrapped in December 2025. Under the theme
“Kinh do xua – van hoi moi”, there are 4 main groups of programs i.e. (1) “Spring in the ancient capital” spring festival, (2) “Shining Citadel” summer festival, (3) “Hue in the autumn days” autumn festival, (4) “Hue’s winter” winter festival. Throughout the year, there will be 62 main programs/events. The highlight are the launching ceremony of National Tourism Year and Hue Festival and the firework-shooting event celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hue liberation day.
National Tourism Year is a big cultural, socio-economic and tourism event which is combined with Hue Festival 2025. It also celebrates Thua Thien Hue as it becomes the centrally governed city. Thua Thien Hue province not only holds important political and economic position, but also locates in key economic region in Central Vietnam, the east-west economic corridor connecting Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and the East sea and the Central heritage road. The province is a favorite destination of both domestic and international visitors. It deserves to be known as the ASEAN cultural city, the national green city and the ASEAN clean tourist city. National Tourism Year 2025 is an opportunity for local tourism to exploit their available potentials, connect, leave impression and make contribution to accelerating and turning tourism into local leading sector.
