On November 12th 2018, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued Decision No. 2658/QD-UBND on establishing Hue Fine Arts Museum. Accordingly, the museum was founded by arranging and consolidating Le Ba Dang Art Center and Diem Phung Thi Art Center (Department of Culture and Sports).
Hue Fine Arts Museum is the place where Hue fine art is researched, exhibited and introduced. It focuses on well-known artworks marking the development of Hue fine arts over the period, those highly evaluated by researchers/critics as well as art pieces made by artists known by not only Vietnamese, but also foreigners. Besides, the museum also jointly organize culture and art events.
Hue Fine Arts Museum consists of 03 spaces, namely artwork gallery, Le Ba Dang art museum and Diem Phung Thi art museum.
In addition to works of art from painter Le Ba Dang and sculptor Diem Phung Thi, Hue Fine Arts Museum also showcases artworks of artists who made great contribution to Hue fine arts since early 20th century.
